The funeral of visual artist David Hockney was organized in secret, and there were only two participants, says The Sun.
Hockney died peacefully at home on June 11 at the age of 88.
The artist wanted his funeral to be small and private. Only his companions were present Jean-Pierre as well as one of his nephews, Richard.
– We would like to clarify that it was David’s clear wish that only his partner JP and his nephew Richard would attend his funeral, and that their privacy would be respected, Hockney’s spokesperson told the newspaper on Sunday.
According to the magazine, Hockney’s last wish was that his works be donated to foundations and public institutions around the world. So far, it has not been announced which works the donations will concern or to which parties they will end up.
