There has been a data protection incident at Adidas.
An unauthorized third party had access to certain customer data through a service provider for customer service, said the sporting goods manufacturer. “We immediately initiated the necessary measures to contain the incident and started a comprehensive examination in cooperation with leading experts in information security.” Payment -relevant information such as passwords or credit card data is not affected.
Instead, the data concerned included contact information from certain customers who had contacted the customer service’s help desk in the past. The potentially affected customers as well as the data protection and security authorities would be informed.
