As of: December 17, 2023 9:56 a.m

Dave Chisnall didn’t show any weakness in his opening match at the Darts World Cup in London’s Alexandra Palace and could now be Gabriel Clemens’ third round opponent. The Englishman won the second round against Cameron Menzies (Scotland), partner of the “Queen of the Palace” Fallon Sherrock, 3-1 despite a stuttering start on Saturday.

Clemens will meet the Dutch whiz kid Gian van Veen or Man Lok Leung from Hong Kong on Thursday (December 21, 2023). If they win, the semi-finalists from the last World Cup would face Chisnall in the third round. Especially at the beginning of the game, Menzies posed problems for his favored opponent and won the first set 3-0. Then “Chizzy” took control.

The day before, the world number 63. Menzies won his first round game 3-0 against Austria’s Rusty-Jake Rodriguez, even though he had previously completed a five-hour shift as a plumber.

Anderson without effort

Two-time champion Gary Anderson had a perfect start to his 15th world championship. The Scot had no trouble beating former finalist Simon Whitlock from Australia 3-0 and showed a strong performance.
