Clemens Riedel leaves the second division soccer team Darmstadt 98 and moves to Espanyol Barcelona to Spain. The 22-year-old received a contract for four years until 2029.
“It is something special for the entire club that a player who was trained in our young talent center will be active in La Liga in the future,” said Darmstadt sports director Paul Fernie: “It is our stated goal not to have a high potential player.
Riedel came to the Darmstadt youth in July 2019, and on July 24, 2021 he celebrated his professional debut. In total, the central defender played 84 competitive games for the Hesse.
