A year after her Olympic victory, Darja Varfolomeev convinced again. In Dresden she voted to be a five-fold master.

Darja Varfolomeev has impressively confirmed her current exceptional position in Dresden. The 18-year-old won all the individual finals at the German championships in rhythmic sports aerobics-and thus all five possible titles, as was already in 2023.

After her victory in the all -around on Saturday, the athlete from the club TSV Schmiden could not be conquered in the disciplines of tires, ball, leg and band. “That was the strongest competition of the season,” said Varfolomeev after her appearance in the Margon Arena.

There was also praise from team boss Isabell Sawade. She spoke of “absolute world-class achievements”. Due to the changed evaluation regulations through which the scores have been lower since the last Olympic cycle, it is particularly noteworthy if athletes exceed the 30-point mark. That succeeds very few, said Sawade – Varfolomeev succeeded in three out of four device finals in Dresden.

The Olympic winner had already won all five gold medals in the national title fights in Düsseldorf last year-and later repeated at the World Cup in Valencia. At the World Cup from August 20th to 24th in Rio de Janeiro, she is again part of the favorite group.

In all four single finals, Varfolomeev prevailed with a clear lead-more than one point each separated from the competition. Anastasia Simakova (also Schmiden) won silver with band and legs. Margarita Kolosov (Potsdam), Olympic fourth of Tokyo, finished second with the tire. Viktoria Steinfeld (Schmiden) reached second place with the ball.
