Danone acquires the British food company Huel.
A binding agreement has been signed to take over Huel, said the French food company, which wants to expand its presence in the wellness segment.
Danone is said to be strengthening its position in functional nutrition with Huel ready-to-drink beverages and powders. According to Danone, Huel’s direct sales platform and popularity in the US, Europe and UK were key factors in the move.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Danone shares temporarily gained 0.53 percent to 68.86 euros in Paris.
