Daniel Theis wins with the Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers around basketball world champion Daniel Theis won the NBA again after a setback on Tuesday night (January 9th, 2024).

The Clippers dominated their home game against the Phoenix Suns with 138:111 (71:63) after previously losing to city rivals the Lakers. This ended the run of five wins in a row in the North American Basketball League.

Six points, three rebounds, three assists

Theis scored six points, three rebounds and three assists in 14 minutes of action; the hosts’ best scorers were Paul George (25 points), Ivica Zubac and James Harden (19 each). Superstar Harden achieved a double-double with his additional ten assists. The top scorer of the evening was Suns key player Kevin Durant (30).

The hosts led the entire second half and pulled away with a dominant final section (37:20).

After Theis joined the Clippers in mid-November last year, the center won 19 of the 25 games with his new team. The team from Los Angeles maintains fourth place in the Western Conference and is still on course for the playoffs.

Antetokounmpo’s triple-double isn’t enough

The Milwaukee Bucks around superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo are still not getting going. The 2021 NBA champions lost at home against the Utah Jazz 116:132 (46:77) and suffered their fourth defeat in the last five games.

Antetokounmpo also couldn’t avoid the defeat with 25 points, eleven assists and ten rebounds, his fourth triple-double of the season. The Bucks remain second in the Eastern Conference behind the Boston Celtics, who also lost on Monday (local time) and were beaten by the Indiana Pacers 131:133 (68:59).
