Ex-Mainzer without a club since the summer
Like many other clubs, Karlsruher SC used the international break this week to give those professionals the chance to play in friendlies who are not regularly used in league operations. Both against FC Winterthur on Wednesday and against Mainz 05 on Thursday, another player was also on the field who is not otherwise part of the squad: Daniel Brosinski.
The 34-year-old right-back has been without a club since his contract with Mainz ended this summer and keeps fit at his youth club. Brosinski wore the jersey for Baden until 2008 and was in the Bundesliga squad twice in 2007/08 without being substituted on. In the friendlies he was allowed to prove himself for 20 minutes each, but there are currently no plans to sign the tenth place in the Bundesliga 2. “However, nothing has changed in his status as a player without a contract,” it said Match report on the club website. With Marco Thiede (30) and Sebastian Jung (32) there are two experienced right-backs in the KSC squad.
With a market value of 500,000 euros, Brosinski is one of the most valuable German footballers without a club. He played a total of 321 games in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga for , , and Mainz.
