Registration of the 55 million purchase is missing
Despite financial problems: Olmo stays at Barça

Financial difficulties are affecting FC Barcelona badly. Dani Olmo’s registration for 2025 is still pending. The player has already made a decision.
According to his agent, Dani Olmo wants to stay at FC Barcelona regardless of any difficulties surrounding his continued registration. Agent Andy Bara told Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano that the former Leipzig player made this decision because he wanted to play for Barça. “We are not considering any other option,” emphasized Bara.
The Catalan club, where former national coach Hansi Flick has been the coach since this season, signed Olmo for an estimated 55 million euros in the summer. The European champion received a contract there until June 2030.
However, due to its financial problems, FC Barcelona is now having difficulty registering the dangerous midfielder for the second half of the season. The deadline for this only ran until 11:59 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. If he is not registered, Olmo would no longer be part of the squad and would be allowed to move.
Spanish media reported that the club recently tried in vain to force registration in court. By selling VIP boxes in the modernized Camp Nou stadium to an Arab investment fund, FC Barcelona is trying to raise 100 million euros in order to solve the problem. It was said that relevant documents were sent to the league for review on New Year’s Eve.
