Daley Blind leaves Ajax: the defender’s contract has been dissolved

Ajax will dissolve Daley Blind’s contract as of December 31. The 32-year-old defender is thus given the space to look for a new club. Blind still had a contract with the Amsterdam club until the end of the season.

In recent weeks there has been a lot of speculation about Blind’s situation at Ajax. Under trainer Alfred Schreuder he lost his starting place and was booed several times by the public. The 99-time international nevertheless went with the Dutch national team to the World Cup in Qatar. Blind is emphatically associated with a transfer to FC Antwerp. Trainer Mark van Bommel and technical director Marc Overmars would like to see the left leg come to Belgium.

Blind grew into a permanent fixture in the team of former coach Frank de Boer and became champion four times in a row with Ajax. In 2014, he earned a transfer to Manchester United. Blind played there until 2018, after which he returned to Ajax.
