The Morocco Rally is the most important race after the Dakar for the line-up of the drivers, the type of land, the precision of the Road Books and above all is a test for many innovations that are then introduced in the queen of the rally”.

What is the most beautiful memory of a stellar career?
“Each Dakar is unique, but I would certainly say the first victory by motorbike with the arrival at the Rosa in Senegal. I have chills only at the memory.”
And then the experience alongside Fernando Alonso as a navigator.
“It was very nice to share this experience with him. He thinks of returning when he closes the Chapter Formula 1. I would like to get back into play for a project like this. Every now and then we talk about it.”
A curiosity about the Dakar played with Alonso. Who was the most demanding between you two?
“It is nice to see legends of other motor disciplines measuring yourself in the most massacred race in the world. It is part of the history of Dakar. Who was more demanding? Surely me! (Laughs)”.
MotoGP is combined with raid raids thanks to the new organizing team.
“It is a beautiful team with Pep Vila (Dakariano with many races on the trucks behind him, but also a key figure of Dorna), Manel Arroyo (for a long time commercial director of Dorna) and Luc Alphand (great champion in skiing and car driver). The adventure has just begun but there are all the premises to do well”.
