The story of a pair of football-playing twins who today follow two very different paths began on a small football field in Rijkevorsel. Daan Braspenning (18) became a professional football player at Club Brugge and an international player with the young Red Devils. His sister Lies (18) quit as a child, but found her way back years later. What made the difference? Club FC Sint-Jozef SK, a fourth-provincial club where youth football is free. And that was welcome for mother Maya Tippel (42): “Without that accessibility I would not have been able to let my children play football.”
