Arthur Van Den Boer took the holeshot and was joined by Antoine Jamin, Yordi Corsus, Sil De Brauwere and Viktor Vandenberghe. The five escapees started the second round with a small advantage over Mats Vanden Eynde, Kay De Bruyckere and Kenay De Moyer. That group merged during the descent on the slope. After twelve minutes, Corsus, De Brauwere and Vandenberghe pushed ahead. Van Den Boer crashed in the pursuit of the leading trio and fell back a few positions. Vanden Eynde in turn tried to close the gap with the escapees and followed with De Bruyckere at his wheel.

Half cross, a leading group formed with four: Vandenberghe, De Brauwere, De Bruyckere and Vanden Eynde. De Moyer and Jamin followed within half a minute. De Bruyckere accelerated just before the passage on the diagonal side. Vandenberghe immediately pulled towards his rear wheel, while Vanden Eynde also tried to make the connection. However, Vandenberghe choked on the steps. With two laps to go, De Bruyckere had a five-second advantage over Vandenberghe and Vanden Eynde. The final round went into the final round with four leaders: Vanden Eynde, Vandenberghe, De Bruyckere and De Brauwere. Vandenberghe had to tolerate Vanden Eynde for the longest time, but was also able to shake him off with a new acceleration of the pace. He succeeds Aaron Dockx as Belgian champion. “It was a really hectic Belgian championship, but I really enjoyed the title battle,” said Vandenberghe.
