Marianne Vos has won the first stage of the Tour de France Femmes. The 38-year-old cyclist from Babyloniënbroek thereby secures the first yellow sweater. In the last meters of the match, she managed to catch up with leader Pauline Ferrand-Prévot and crossed the finish up just after 19:33.

It is now for the third time in four editions of the Tour de France Femmes that a Dutch rider can take the yellow sweater on the first day. The bulb sweater goes to the Swiss Elise Chabbey.

Marianne Vos had everything but easy in the last kilometers of the game. Visma-Lease a Bike and Lidl-Trek increased the pace considerably in the hope that Marianne Vos and Elisa Balsamo could start the last climb in the front and so grab the yellow sweater on the finish line.
