A cyclist was seriously injured in a collision in Zuidwolde this afternoon. This happened at a crossing on the Hoogeveenseweg.
The cyclist wanted to cross the road and probably overlooked a car. The collision caused the cyclist to land hard on the road surface. He was rushed to hospital.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident, which is why the road will be closed to traffic for some time.
