The fourth stage of the “Lotto-Thuringia Ladies Tour” goes – of course – to the SD Worx team. There you alternate diligently with the day’s victories. A German made it into the top ten again.

Team SD Worx unbeatable – Riedmann seventh

The winning streak of the SD Worx team at the 35th Thuringia Tour for women continues. Lonneke Uneken from the Netherlands won the 133.7-kilometer section around Gotha in a sprint on Friday (May 26) ahead of Marta Lach from Poland and Christina Schweinberger from Austria. At the same time, she made sure that all the day’s victories so far have gone to the top Dutch team. In the overall standings, Mischa Bredewold from the Netherlands defended the yellow jersey she had won on the second stage, just ahead of her teammates Lorena Wiebes and Belgium’s cycling star Lotte Kopecky.

On the stage, which was peppered with around 1000 meters of altitude difference and some steep climbs, the preliminary decision was made 26.5 kilometers before the end when the eventual winning trio pulled away and gained a lead of up to 1:15 minutes. Last year’s overall second Mach, who celebrated her 26th birthday on Friday, made the strongest impression and took the lead for most of the time. That took revenge on the last few meters, where Uneken had the greatest reserves of strength for the sprint.

Best German was once again Linda Riedmann, who crossed the finish line in seventh place. It is already her third place in the top ten as a single rider. The fifth stage on Saturday (May 27) leads around Schmalkalden over 132.7 kilometers. It also goes to the 834 meter high Oberhof. The tour ends on Sunday (May 28) in Mühlhausen.
