Vuelta-Champion Primoz Roglic won its 23rd bike tour after a solo attack on Montjuic in Barcelona.

The Slovenian from the Red Bull team won the last stage of the Catalonia Tour alone and won the overall victory for the second time after 2023.

After 88.2 kilometers, Roglic saved a lead of 14 seconds and was 28 seconds before the Spaniard Juan Ayuso in the final bill.

The 35-year-old is already in good shape this spring. Roglic wants to tackle the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France this year. In 2023 he had already won the tour of Italy. On the tour, it was enough for second place in 2020 when he lost just against Tadej Pogacar.

“I am not a sprinter, I wanted to decide on the mountain. After the second bonus print, I had to do something. I really enjoyed it here,” said Roglic, who initially fought a fight for the bonus customers with the previously leading Ayuso at the final stage with start and finish in Barcelona.

A good 20 kilometers before the finish at the third crossing of the Montjuic near the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, he then started alone and was no longer caught up.
