Cycling, Italian Women: Elisa Longo Borghini wins

Once more Elisa Longo Borghini is confirmed as the symbol of the Italian cycling movement. The 33-year-old from Piedmontese of the Uae-Adq has in fact won Darfo Boario Terme for the sixth time the tricolor title (online test, it also has 7 in the stopwatch) by crowning a perfect work of her team: Elisa, a reigning champion of the Giro d’Italia (which starting from Sunday 6 July will face as a favorite), has imposed herself by detachment, starting to make the void at 38 km (under 130). On the podium also Monica Trinca Colonel (Liv-Jayco) at 58 “and the 21-year-old Eleonora Ciabocco at 1’49”.

Fear in the race for Vittoria Guazzini, Olympian on the track in Paris 2024 and tricolor on Thursday in the time trial in front of Longo Borghini, falling down to the least 34 km from the conclusion and transported to hospital for investigations. Tomorrow, from Trieste to Gorizia for 228 km, it’s up to the elite men with Jonathan Milan and Filippo Ganna among the favorites, while in Darfo Boario Terme the tricolor in line of the under 23 will be staged.
