Cycling, Giro d’Abruzzo presented on board Vespucci

The Giro d’Abruzzo becomes more and more interesting. The great cycling lacted RCS Sport and the Amerigo Vespucci – the historic sailing ship of the Navy – started their journey from the port of Ortona inside the spaces of the village in Italy – place of storytelling and sharing of the “world tour” of the sailing ship – where the stages scheduled from 15 to 18 April was presented, organized in collaboration with the Abruzzo Region. Vespucci and RCS Sport Nave will meet again in Durazzo on April 9, exactly one month of the departure of the Giro d’Italia from the Albanian city, for an exclusive countdown aboard the sailing ship. The subsequent meeting, in full swing of the pink race, on May 15 in Naples (arrival of the sixth stage) and on 1 June in Civitavecchia where the Amerigo Vespucci ship will be moored. The motto of Vespucci “not who begins but what perseveres” unites Vespucci to the world of cycling and underlines the sacrifice and passion for the sea as well as that for two wheels on the road.

To inaugurate the Abruzzo stage there was also the visit on board the Premier Giorgia Meloni, who had already met the crew in Gedda last January in Saudi Arabia. “Rebaring the president on board was a great emotion – the words of the commander, the captain of Vascello Giuseppe Lai – in order to see all of us see the attention of the institutions towards this great crew and this adventure that continues again”.

Four stages, those of the Giro d’Abruzzo, along the streets of all the provinces to promote the beauties of the territory. “Sport is one of the cornerstones for the relaunch of Abruzzo – the words of Marsilio -. The 2025 edition presents a very demanding path which also includes the uphill arrival of Roccaraso. During the four days of the race all the provinces of the Abruzzo Region (Chieti, L’Aquila, Pescara, Teramo) will be crossed.

Stop 2: Touch from Casauria-Lenne, 138 km

Stop 3: San Demetrio in Vestini-Roccaraso (Aremogna), 160 km

Stage 4: Corropolis-island of the Gran Sasso (Sanctuary of San Gabriele), 166 km
