The Colombian from Ineos-Grenadiers hasn’t raced since the end of February: the pink race is always in his sights
Egan Bernal should return to the group at the Tour of the Alps, scheduled for April 20th to 24th. The 29-year-old Colombian from Ineos-Grenadiers, who this season confirmed his country’s road champion, has been out of action since February 28, when he finished the Faun Ardeche Classic in seventh place. Then knee problems kept him out of the race in March: now, sources have confirmed to the Gazzetta that his return should be at the Tour of the Alps, the intention being the last test before the Giro d’Italia. Bernal remains the only non-European rider to have won both the Giro (2021) and the Tour (2019).
