Curling men lose to EM conclusion

After a final 5:8 defeat against Switzerland, the German curling men took eighth place at the European Championships in Östersund, Sweden. Skip Sixten Totzek and his team had missed the semifinals prematurely.

The German women around Skip Andrea Jentsch (Füssen) did one place better than their male colleagues. However, in the final group game, they gambled away their participation in the semi-finals by beating the top-ranked Danes 3:12.

Switzerland and Denmark contest the women’s final. The first men’s finalist is Scotland, the opponents of the British will be determined on Friday by Switzerland and the defending champion Sweden.
