Curious moment with Princess Charlène at Monaco winning ceremony

The princess should actually hand over the trophy for second place in the Formula 1 race. Then there was a confusion.
Lando Norris celebrated his first victory in the most traditional and most famous races in Formula 1: The Grand Prix of Monaco was a very special success for the McLaren pilot (you can read more about this here).
After the race, however, there was unexpectedly laughing at the actually solemn award ceremony on the podium.
The trophies for the three best drivers are traditionally presented by Prince Albert II and his wife Princess Charlène. And Charlène took second place for second place, then turned to the closest to her closest Oscar Piatri, wanted to shake his hand and apparently hand over the trophy. The McLaren driver smiled, pointed to Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc on the other side of the podium-because the local hero had actually drove in second place, Piatri finished third.
Charlène still shook his hand and continued to Leclerc with a self -ironic head shaking. Then the “right” second received the trophy in the form of the racetrack.
After that it was still to be seen how the princess talked to husband Albert II. Both apparently seemed to take the little faux pas with humor.
The first Grand Prix of Formula 1 in the Principality was held in 1950. From 1955 to 2019 the race was constantly part of the racing calendar of the “premier class”, only in 2020 the run was not held due to the corona pandemic. Due to the lack of overtaking opportunities on the narrow fine, the race has been criticized again and again in recent years, threatened to fly out of the calendar. Formula 1 recently extended the contract with the racetrack by six years until 2031.
