Borussia Dortmund has successfully resisted an election advertising sticker from the local AfD. The party added to a declaration of cease and desist.

On the sticker, which was designed for the local elections on September 14th in NRW, it says: “The black and yellow football on Sunday – blue.” The BVB argued in an injunction prompted by the news agency dpa that the “recovery” of the club colors by the AfD did not have to be accepted. On Tuesday, the association wrote in its message: “With its legal opinion, BVB has now prevailed.”

Previously, the party’s district association had a corresponding injunction on Monday Borussia Dortmund signed. The Bundesliga club also announced this. With the declaration, the AfD district association Dortmund committed “if a contractual penalty to be determined for the contrary to the contrary to the contrary to the purposes of political opinion, to operate election advertising using the BVB association colors,” said the association in its message.

The member of the Bundestag Matthias Helferich, who had received the injunction together with the AfD district association, confirmed the process compared to the dpa. The BVB had given the party and helpers until Tuesday to give up the omission. The opposite side should also bear the costs of around 4,000 euros. Helferich and the AfD candidate in Dortmund, Heiner Garbe, had then offered via X (formerly Twitter) to donate the 4,000 euros and 1,000 euros each to a children’s hospice. The BVB did not go into that.
