The first electric car from the Spanish brand evolves with a strong design, improved interiors and more advanced technologies
Production of the new one will begin in the second quarter of 2026, with the market launch scheduled for the summer Cupra Born. The first electric car from the Spanish brand evolves with a high-impact design, improved interiors and more advanced technologies. With a range of more than 600 km, power up to 326 HP (240 kW) and innovations such as Matrix LED lighting, the new Cupra Born strengthens the brand’s identity as a brand of great character, combining electrification, style, performance, sustainability, and digitalisation. Designed and developed in Barcelona, the car will be produced in Zwickau, Germany.

The new Cupra Born is the most decisive expression of the brand’s stylistic language, young and full of character, with a shark-nose front, newly designed front and rear bumpers, and Matrix LED headlights with a triangular signature. A more prominent diffuser reinforces its sporty DNA, while the contrasting color scheme extends the dark area to the ground, reducing visual weight and giving the car a more stable stance. 4,336 mm long (+12 mm), 1,809 mm wide, 1,540 mm high, and with a wheelbase of 2,766 mm, it maintains decisive but fluid lines, which make it very efficient from an aerodynamic point of view. The rear is framed by LED lights with the characteristic Cupra three-triangle design and the illuminated logo, now enriched with a 3D lighting effect that adds depth. The rims were conceived to combine emotional design and functional performance. The range now offers five options: two new 19″ alloy wheels and three 20″ models, including a new copper finish for the Firestorm wheel. With the new Cupra Born, 235 mm wider tires are also available for the new 19″ wheels. The exterior color palette has been updated, adding interesting new shades to the consolidated finishes. The interiors are also improved, with a cabin that adds quality thanks to the redesigned front and rear door panels and a renewed steering wheel with physical controls. The move to physical controls improves precision and responsiveness, allowing the driver to interact with key functions more easily, creating a more direct and safe connection. The new lighting controls allow you to manage the external lights in a simpler and more intuitive way and the steering wheel integrates buttons to select the driving modes and regenerative paddles (for the 170kW and 240kW engines). All this is completed by the use of sustainable materials, including dashboard moldings made with 75% recycled materials.
DIGITAL EXPERIENCE AND SECURITY
—
Inside the new Cupra Born a digital world comes to life, with a 12.9″ infotainment system and a new Android-based operating system, framed by an illuminated cursor, a new larger 10.25″ digital instrument panel, and the head-up display with augmented reality. The audio system has also been updated, relying on Sennheiser’s Contrabass technology, while the new internal sound signature of Cupra creates a more intense connection between the driver and the vehicle when select Performance and Cupra driving modes. Devices placed in the cabin receive boosted charging of up to 90W via USB-C cable (up to 45W available in the front and 45W in the rear), with 15W wireless charging available by simply placing the device in the central storage compartment between the driver and front passenger. And with the Mobile Device Key, drivers can unlock, start and share vehicle access using their smartphone. The Vehicle-to-Load function is very practical, transforming the car into a portable energy source and allowing the car battery to power external devices such as laptops, e-bikes or high-power audio systems that can be activated via a dedicated adapter. With a complete complement of safety systems supported by radar, cameras, ultrasonic sensors and external data sources that create a real-time image of the surrounding environment, the new Cupra Born confirms itself as one of the safest cars in its segment. The heart of the system is the new Travel Assist 3.0 which integrates cloud-based data to improve control on the road: the system recognizes road bumps, traffic light stopping points and pedestrian crossings, and is also able to optimize speed near curves; Combined with Adaptive Cruise 16 Control and Lane Assist, Travel Assist 3.0 helps keep the vehicle centered and responsive at all speeds.

The new Cupra Born arrives with an expanded range of engines and three engine-battery configurations to choose from based on the desired performance: 140kW/58kWh, 170kW/79kWh and the VZ version with 240kW/79kWh. The new driving technologies introduced strengthen the emotional bond between the car and the person behind the wheel: one-pedal driving, for example, allows you to manage acceleration and deceleration using only the accelerator pedal. By releasing the accelerator, the vehicle automatically decelerates thanks to regenerative braking, recovering energy and reducing the use of the brake pedal. E In the new model for the VZ and Endurance versions there is also Launch Control which manages torque delivery to obtain maximum acceleration from a standstill. Different driving modes alter engine response, steering and suspension settings, with up to 15 levels of adjustment available via Dynamic Chassis Control: Individual mode allows drivers to tailor the setup to their preferences, while Range puts a premium on efficiency, Comfort softens the suspension for long journeys, and Performance and Cupra modes unlock the car’s dynamic capabilities and make it even more fun to drive.
THE NEW CUPRA BORN VZ
—
The new Cupra Born VZ, available from launch, is the most powerful and performance-oriented version in the range. A 326 HP (240 kW) electric motor delivers instant torque of 545 Nm, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h. Despite the increase in power, it offers an electric range of around 600 km. In the cockpit, the Born VZ amplifies involvement with the driver: the Cup Bucket seats position him closer to the car’s center of gravity, while the regenerative paddles allow immediate control of energy recovery. The dynamic behavior of the Born VZ is oriented towards a sportier driving experience thanks to the robust suspension calibration, the promptness of the steering and the accelerator response. The new Launch Control function allows you to exploit all the power of the car when stationary, offering an emotionally engaging experience.
