The organizers like to use the DFB Cup draw to give athletes from other sports some attention. Same this Sunday. There, the sailor Felix van den Hövel was allowed to draw the men’s round of 16 games in the German Football Museum in Dortmund.

Before the start of the draw, van den Hövel was asked by ZDF presenter Lilli Engels which club he was keeping his fingers crossed for. His surprising answer: “Honestly, it’s an honor to be here. But I’m not interested in football at all. Never have been.”

The on-site spectators took it with humor and laughed at the statement. Van den Hövel himself took advantage of the opportunity and emphasized: “[Das ist] “Lucky, you couldn’t have had a more impartial lottery fairy than me.”
