Cup finals, giant: Shiffrin leads in front of Brignone

In the first heat the American leads with an 82/100 advantage over Fede and 88 over Mowinckel. Fifth the Bassino

Federica Brignone is on the hunt for her first giant success of the season in the race that closes the 2021/22 World Cup. After the first heat of the finals, the Italian is second 82/100 behind Mikaela Shiffrin, the fastest on the Meribel track that will host the World Championships next year. Perfect in the first part – up to the second intermediate she was the fastest – the Brignone accumulated all the delay in the final.

Further away – at 1 ”37 – Marta Bassino, who is sixth behind Mowinckel (behind 84/100), Vlhova (at 1” 08) and Gut (at 1 ”32). Very far away Elena Curtoni, last at 3 ”86 behind the world junior champion Magdalena Egger. This season the blue have not yet won in the giant, so far Bassino has collected three podiums and Brignone one.
