“I’ve always been curious about people.” A model takes a new pose in the K38 arts center in Roden. Jelly van den Bosch’s gaze slides from the paper to the model with concentration. Her right hand makes quick lines on the page. The drawing will be completed in half an hour.
It is one of Jelly’s many activities that can be seen in the third episode of 80 Beautiful.
Portraits are her specialization. “With a portrait you can get under someone’s skin.” The studio on the attic of her house is full of portraits. “I still have things I want to get started on.”
There is no such thing as sitting still. “’Get used to it never ending,’ my son said the other day.”
