The Allied Resolve-2022 exercises, which are conducted by Russia and Belarus, are an internal affair of the Union State, declared CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas on the air of the STV channel.
“Those exercises that will now begin on the territory of Belarus are of a purely defensive nature. <...> Well, of course, this is an internal affair of Belarus and Russia, which conduct these exercises on their territory, ”he said.
At the same time, he called for taking into account the concerns of Western partners about the exercises and making them more open in order to show the intent.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced the conduct of the February exercises in the republic together with the Russian army on January 17. Then he instructed the Minister of Defense Viktor Khrenin to inform the exact date of the start of the maneuvers, so as not to receive reproaches for the drawdown of troops from the West.
