After seven minutes, Learst Paqarada had to get off the pitch during his debut for Heidenheim. Now it is clear: the defender will be missing from the club for a long time.

The start of his new employer could hardly have been bitter for Learst Paqarada. After just a few minutes in the jersey of the 1st FC Heidenheim, the newcomer who came from 1st FC Köln has to take a bitter setback.

The 30-year-old was seriously injured on the game against Borussia Dortmund (0: 2) on Saturday. As the club announced on Monday, an MRI examination confirmed a cruciate ligament tear. The diagnosis means a month -long break for the left -back.

Coach Frank Schmidt had spoken a worse suspicion shortly after the game. In the Sky interview, he said Paqarada reported that it “cracked several times” in the knee. The scene had happened without an opposing influence – Paqarada had stuck in the lawn with his left foot and had twisted his knee.

“The injury meets us all hard – primarily he personally,” Schmidt is quoted in the club announcement. “In the next few months, we as a team will have to stand even more closely together, take responsibility and compensate for the failure of Learst Pacarada together.”
