Turkish Football Federation Executive Board member and National Teams Responsible Hamit Altıntop talked about the difficulties experienced by Turkish football. Emphasizing that they need to rebuild trust between the TFF and the clubs, Altıntop mentioned that the quality in the Super League is low.

Hamit Altıntop answered the questions about the agenda in his interview with Hürriyet Newspaper.

HOW DO YOU SEE THE FUTURE OF COUNTRY FOOTBALL?

“The pandemic, which affected the whole world, both socially and economically, in short, affected football, of course. But we cannot use this as an excuse. It is a fact that there are stability and economic problems in Turkish football that started before the pandemic and got worse with the pandemic.

“We need to produce short, medium and long-term solutions. We need to increase the brand value of Turkish football with all its stakeholders. For this, we need a clearer, more stable, sustainable understanding of football and sportive success. The increase in the quality of the league and stable success will both increase our brand value and increase our mileage. will ensure sustainable success in teams.

“TOO LOW QUALITY IN THE SUPER LEAGUE”

“Unfortunately, the quality of football in the Super League at the moment is at very low levels in terms of technique, tactics and tempo. There is no understanding of a planned game.

We must create a new football system according to Turkish culture and values, and develop a Turkish school in football with our own formula. We must be an international, flexible school that produces solutions and voices world football. Thus, we can become a watched league in the world and increase our brand value.

We have that talent, tenacity, and passion. We have a young generation and young teachers in our league. Especially our young teachers make a difference with their vision and self-development.

I am hopeful and faithful for the future of Turkish football.”

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE NEW GENERATION OF TECHNICIANS?

“There is a change in Turkish teachers. This makes me very excited and happy.

“As a coach, being close to the player generation in every aspect provides better communication. Turkish coaches should be supported more in the community and in the media.

“Our clubs should also give more chances to young coaches. Turkey talks about Arda Güler, Emirhan İlkan and Kerem Aktürkoğlu.”

WHAT ARE YOUR MOST CONFIDENT ASPECTS OF STEFAN KUNTZ?

“Communication power and transparency come first among the aspects I trust most. We thought that he was the most suitable coach with his success and experience in the German Hope National Team.

“He offers various ideas with his education program and outside experiences. He approaches the events transparently. As the Turkish society, we are a very emotional society.

“Our emotionality can sometimes be our weakness. I believe that if we blend our emotionality and discipline well, we will be very successful in football.”

NİHAT ÖZDEMİR’S REQUEST DECISION

“We must respect the resignation of Nihat President with his own choice. There is no need to make an assessment on this matter. When I came from the field and moved to the other side of the table, I saw that being a manager was more difficult than in the field. I always received support from him, I benefited from his experience in management, I thank him again.”
