Basically, there is not much to report in the EC qualifying match between Portugal and Liechtenstein.

This time, however, the situation was different, because the Lusitanians had a new head coach Roberto Martinez named the 38-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo for the hosts’ opening.

It guaranteed Ronaldo yet another record, because before the evening he shared the top of the statistics for the most international matches played together with Kuwait Badar al-Mutawan.

Ronaldo started his own national team career in August 2003, and the Liechtenstein match meant his 197th representative match.

The skipper was also involved in Portugal’s opening goal. João Cancelo was able to bomb from 20 meters, and the ball bounced through Ronaldo into the net. However, the 1–0 goal was scored by the defender of Bayern Munich.

At the same time in Naples, West Ham Declan Rice gave England the lead against Italy. The Azzurri are defending the EC gold they won at Wembley.
