Because of Ronaldo: Al-Nassr doesn’t want to play in Iran

Actually, the fans in Iran only wanted to get a look at Cristiano Ronaldo last year. However, the situation escalated and is now worried.
Cristiano Ronaldo wants to concentrate on football and not negative side locations. At least that is what his Saudi football club Al-Nassr claims. Because Al-Nassr does not want to travel to Tehran for the Asian Champions League. There the world star’s team would play against Esteghlal on March 3.
Al Nassr announced in a letter: “Due to the bad experiences that Ronaldo had to make in Tehran last year, the game should take place on neutral soil.”
What happened last year? At the Champions League duel against Persepolis in Tehran, thousands of Iranian fans crowded in front of the Al-Nassr team hotel to catch a glimpse of the Portuguese star. The situation got out of control, so the police had to intervene – sometimes violently.
According to the sports portal “Varzesh3”, both Iran’s association president Mehdi Taj and Esteghlal Tehran rejected the demand from al-Nassr and emphasize their home right for the game on Monday. The Esteghlal press department said that all necessary precautions were taken to ensure a pleasant stay in Tehran.
