The crisis emergency shelter for asylum seekers at the Graswijk in Assen will be extended until the end of 2023.
This is reported by the municipality of Assen.
Since October 1, 2022, a maximum of 50 asylum seekers have been accommodated in the former farmhouse on the Graswijk, for whom there is no room in Ter Apel.
Flow still under pressure
In principle, the reception center would be open until April 1, 2023, the municipality writes, but ‘the flow of asylum seekers is still under great pressure. There are still not enough reception locations available to accommodate all refugees’.
