Crespo follows Schreuder at Al-Ain

Former goalscorer Hernán Crespo is about to take on a role as the new coach of Al-Ain FC in the United Arab Emirates.

The Argentine has already signed a preliminary contract and will succeed former Bundesliga coach Alfred Schreuder in the coming days, as the club announced.

Schreuder, who coached TSG Hoffenheim in the 2019/20 season, decided by mutual agreement with those responsible at Al-Ain to terminate the contract despite second place in the table.

The 48-year-old Crespo most recently worked for Al-Duhail SC in Qatar. As a player, he won, among other things, three titles in Italy and the 1999 UEFA Cup with Parma.
