AZ Under-19 was supported by more than 2,000 spectators in Wijdewormer. Overcrowded parking spaces and special shuttle buses brought the supporters to the training complex. The fans saw how AZ got off to a good start, but large parts of the game were under pressure.
Penalty killer
The leading role was of course for goal scorer Van der Klaauw, but goalkeeper saying also played an exceptional game. Halfway through the second half he stopped a penalty kick from Manchester City. “The moment it is a penalty, you know that you have already taken a few.”
