In the game it went back and forth, initially Liverpool led 2-0 before the guests expose. Shortly before the end, LFC player Federico Chiesa scored the decisive goal for 3-2, in added time Mo Salah again added to the 4-2 final score.

With a moving ceremony, FC Liverpool celebrated the start of the new Premier League season-and at the same time reminded of the late Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva. Before the kick -off against the AFC Bournemouth, fans held up colored cardboard in green, red and white on two grandstands, so that the abbreviation “DJ20” and “AS30” could be seen.

In addition, numerous flags and scarves blew with the portrait of the former Liverpool professional, while the hymn “You’ll never walk alone” sounded. The two Portuguese died in a car accident in Spain in early July.

The English champion successfully started defending the title in terms of sport. In the 4: 2 (1-0) on the Anfield Road, newcomer Hugo Ekitiké, from Eintracht Frankfurt, brought his team in the lead in the 37th minute and also put on Cody Gakpo 2-0 shortly after the break. Bournemouth equalized by Antoine Semenyo (64th, 76th), but the substitute Federico Chiesa (88.) and Mohamed Salah (90.+4) secured victory.

For Ekitiké and international Florian Wirtz, who was also in the starting eleven, it was the Premier League debut in the Liverpool jersey. Together, the two new additions had cost up to 250 million euros. Shortly before the game, the Reds also announced the commitment of another talent: 18-year-old defender Giovanni Leoni changes from the Italian first division team Parma Calcio to Liverpool. According to media reports, the transfer is around 30 million euros.

Florian Wirtz, however, had a changeable debut. He had his best scene after an hour when he got a ball from Dominik Szoboszlai on the edge of the sixteen. The former Leverkusener put his shot just to the left of the Bournemouth goal. After 82 minutes of play, Wirtz’s debut was over, he was replaced – for him, Matchwinner Chiesa came into play.
