In Utrecht, a municipal meeting was disrupted on Thursday evening by Pro-Palestinian demonstrators, reports that RTV Utrecht.

The unrest arose after a vote on a motion about boycotting Israeli products and organizations. The motion was not accepted on which some of the protesters present left. The protesters who lagged behind the council chamber disturbed the meeting from that moment. Mayor Sharon Dijksma then warned them that they were at risk for the police intervention and high penalties. The mayor then decided to guide the protesters themselves outside.

Once outside, demonstrators Dijksma tried to hinder their way back into the town hall. “There were also blows and I was in between,” Dijksma told RTV Utrecht. Dijksma was not hit by the blows herself, but she was blamed on her person. Via the back entrance she joined the meeting after the unrest.
