Cosy! The first Christmas lights are hanging in the shopping streets again

Attention Christmas fans! The Christmas lights are being hung again in our city. The Stadshart already looks festive and soon other places will also be decorated with lights and colored decorations.

The Dorpsstraat, the Stadshart and the Oosterheem Shopping Center will again be given a festive look this year. “We are busy for about nine days, of which one in Oosterheem, two in the Dorpsstraat and six in the Stadshart”, says Bram Hulsbosch of MK Illumination Holland. The company from Overijssel provides Christmas lighting throughout the Netherlands and has been doing this for Zoetermeer for ten years.

In the Stadshart, the well-known chandeliers hang above the shopping streets, colored balls, frills and string lights. The golden decorations such as a party dress and pumps can also be seen again in the city.

The light will go out sooner

Especially now that it gets dark earlier, the decorations are a nice addition to the streets and shopping becomes even more fun. In total we can find 5,600 meters of tree lighting, 37 eye-catchers and 99 ornaments in the shopping streets. Bram explains: “All lighting is LED and therefore energy-efficient, but the burning time per day has nevertheless been reduced to save energy.” The Christmas lights will be on daily from 4pm to 11pm.
