Cooperation between Hinskens and Volendam is good; handball trainer extended by two years

Geert Hinksens has signed with Volendam for two years. The 33-year-old handball trainer is working on his first season as the main responsible for the current number three of the HandbalNL League.

In the BENE-League Volendam grabbed seventh place next to the play-offs. “Hopefully next year we can build on what we started this season. That the peaks of this season, such as winning at home against Aalsmeer or winning away against Lions, will become the basic level with which we will compete to be among the best four teams of the BENE-League,” said Hinskens in a first reaction to his contract extension.

“I think we started a nice trajectory at the beginning of this season and that is far from finished. I have signed for at least two years, but who knows what else is in the pipeline,” continues Hinskens. “I look forward to continuing to work on this in the next two years. I hope the fans do too. It would be nice if the hall could be full more often and that people would rather come to the hall, even if it’s not a final match.”

Volendam will play again in the HandbalNL League this Saturday. The team of Geert Hinskens then plays the away game against Hurry-Up in Drentse Zwartemeer.
