FW24 with Dstrezzed
Gallery Copenhagen proudly presents artworks from the series “Where the Wild Meets the Refined,” an Inuit-inspired journey featuring works by internationally acclaimed artist Isla Nielsen. For over twenty years she has captured the essence of Inuit craftsmanship in her wall decorations, honoring the resilience and craftsmanship that are at the heart of her culture. The Inuit, indigenous people of Greenland, brave extreme conditions of cold, harsh winters and long, dark nights and still find beauty in their surrounding landscape.
It is the opening night of Isla’s exhibition, and close friends and family, including the Brotherhood, have gathered. Presented in a magnificent, welcoming space, the exhibition has attracted many curious people who want to be enchanted by the stories of the Inuit and immerse themselves in a world unknown to them.
As the quiet night progresses, the unique Inuit craftsmanship fascinates the entire room. The patterns and embroidery, a perfect interplay of functionality and elegance, show each item as adaptable and strong.
