The clothing dealer Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf is repositioning his management team.
On Monday, the parent company JC Switzerland Holding AG announced that Constanze Freienstein will take over the post of Peek & Cloppenburg Germany on December 1st. It then succeeds Thomas Joy, which will continue to “closely accompany” the “comprehensive transformation program” of the retailer of the retailer.
In their future function, Freienstein will be responsible for sales, human resources, expansion and renting in the management, for which the joy is previously responsible. According to her future employer, she has “extensive expertise in the areas of retail, restructuring and digitization”.
The designated boss of Peek & Cloppenburg Germany comes from Alix Partners
The designated managing director comes from the advisory company Alix Partners, where she was recently a partner. It also belongs to the administrative councils of Refive and the Retail Technology Show. In the course of her career, she also gained operational management experience. For example, she headed the business in the EMEA region, which includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the business in the EMEA region.
“Together with her colleagues at management level, Constanze will continue to promote the initiatives resulting from the program and play a crucial role in our transformation process,” said Peek & Cloppenburg. “After the entry of Constanze, Thomas will stay with us in a different function as a senior advisor and take care of special projects with the specific tasks of the board.”
Marc Busscher will be the new CFO
The retailer also announced a change in another key position. CFO Tim Mundhenke left the company with immediate effect, according to a statement. His successor as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from Peek & Cloppenburg Germany has already been determined: Marc Busscher will take over the position on October 27th.
Busscher is “a proven financial expert” who held various positions at the PVH Group, according to a message. Most recently, he worked as a CFO Europe at the parent company of the brands of Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein. Before that, he was VP Group Controller at Tommy Hilfiger. Busscher had also spent more than 10 years with the international auditor PricewaterhouseCoopers.
According to the JC Switzerland Holding, the change of personnel at Peek & Cloppenburg Germany takes place against the background of the currently “challenging” market environment. “Peek & Cloppenburg, Düsseldorf, is and remains one of the leading retailers on the German market,” said the parent company. “However, in order to remain competitive in the future, the company must continue to change and adapt to the market conditions.” For the retail chain, a comprehensive transformation program was therefore started, which “begins with a detailed analysis to derive recommendations for future development”.
