Confusion about possible new Schalke trainers

In search of a new coach, Schalke is said to have a clear favorite. But the matter could be complicated.
FC Schalke 04 is looking for a new coach for the upcoming second division season and apparently prefers the current Magdeburg coach Christian Titz. As the TV broadcaster Sky reported on Wednesday, there is also a chance of a quick agreement between the two parties.
But now the turn: As the broadcaster reports only a few hours later, Schalke could have to look after an alternative. According to the new report, Titz has interrupted his summer vacation to have discussions. However, his goal should not have been Gelsenkirchen after all. Instead, Titz should probably deal with one of numerous other offers. How it goes on is still open.
Titz will be under contract with 1st FC Magdeburg until summer 2026. Most recently, however, he had signaled to “check” in the coming days, said sports director Otmar Schork according to a media round according to “Bild” newspaper. “We will give him this time,” continued Schork. There are no concrete deadlines, but a decision is expected promptly.
The 54-year-old has established a clear game philosophy at the 1st FC Magdeburg: direct game structure, a lot of speed and depth. This profile apparently sparked the interest of other clubs.
In the past, Titz had critically critically commented on the conditions on the Magdeburg training grounds. In winter, not playable places made frustration. At the beginning of the year, the final training had to be moved to the hall before the game against Cologne – a turning point in the public discussion about the infrastructure.
