Singer Janet Planet has revealed that both Noel Gallagher and U2 guitarist The Edge will be featured on the new album by her duo Confidence Man. The Australian musician confirmed this to the “New Musical Express”: “Noel and The Edge are actually both hidden somewhere on the record,” says Planet, and further: “I’m not allowed to talk about it. You’ll have to check the YouTube comments.” On April 1st, the band’s second studio album, titled TILT, will be released. It has long been rumored that The Edge will be featured by contributing a tambourine game.

Party culminated in a neighborhood dispute – and in collaboration?

The musical collaboration was probably not the first encounter between the three artists: back in 2019, Noel Gallagher told BBC Radio 1 about a party he attended with The Edge and Confidence Man. In the course of that celebration, there were complaints from the neighbors about the noise level at the party. Finally, according to his own statement, Gallagher jumped into the breach for the hosts Confidence Man – and quarreled with the neighbors.

Janet Planet: “Noel still texts me all the time.”

In the one mentioned above NME interview Meanwhile, Planet spoke of Gallagher hiring the band to support a series of UK summer tour dates. It also expressed her hope that the Brit would set the stage for her indietronica band at the venerable Glastonbury Festival: “I’ll keep my fingers crossed that Noel introduces us on stage,” she said, adding: “Noel will text me still constant news. The other day he sent me: ‘You guys support me at all my shows! I can’t wait to hang out with you guys!’ I was like, ‘Oh no – I’m going to get so drunk and embarrass myself,'” she said.

One, two, three… TILT

Earlier this month (March 8th) Confidence Man released a new single called “Woman” to celebrate International Women’s Day. The track is the opening track of TILT and follows the previously released releases “Feels Like A Different Thing” and “Holiday”.
