Conductor spat at and punched in the nose at Naarden-Bussum station

A train conductor was spat at and punched in the nose during his shift this afternoon. This happened at Naarden-Bussum station. The NS employee was then transferred to hospital by ambulance. The perpetrator is still being sought.

The assault was reported at 2:37 p.m. According to a police spokesperson, many people called emergency services for the victim. Officers found the injured conductor at the scene. He was handed over to ambulance personnel and taken to hospital.

‘Terrible incident’

The train where it happened stood still for at least 45 minutes. The police searched for the perpetrator for some time, but were unable to arrest anyone.

The NS calls the abuse of the conductor a ‘terrible incident’ and says that the victim will report the incident at a later date. “We find it terrible that our colleagues cannot do their work safely,” a spokesperson said.
