Red Star Belgrade’s Europa League duel at Sporting Braga was a bitter evening for Marko Arnautović. The 36-year-old had to be substituted injured in the first half.
In the 37th minute, Austria’s most-record international player remained lying after a duel and immediately grabbed the area between his thigh and knee. Arnautovic screamed in pain, his face was clearly marked – the scene foreshadowed something bad.
A short time later, the attacker left the field limping and supported by two supervisors. An exact diagnosis is still pending, but there are many indications that it is a muscle injury.
