FC Bayern scored three important points in Cologne. But there was also bad news that the people of Munich took with them from the cathedral city.

Bayern Munich is worried about Konrad Laimer. The full-back had to leave the field limping after a collision with an opponent in injury time of the game against 1. FC Köln. Coach Vincent Kompany expressed concern about Laimer’s condition and stated that the player would be examined in more detail the next day.

“He felt something on his calf, if I saw it correctly. It’ll go straight into the scanner tomorrow so we’ll know more,” said Kompany after the game.

The team finished the game with ten men as the substitution quota had already been exhausted. In addition to Laimer, Harry Kane and Hiroki Itō were also treated during the game, but they have no major concerns. Kompany is hoping for a quick return of the injured players, as Josip Stanišić was already out with a capsular ligament injury in his right ankle.

“Hopefully the other players will come back,” Kompany continued. The league leader now has to wait and see how serious Laimer’s injury is and what impact this could have on the coming games. Bayern still have Joshua Kimmich and Sacha Boey as options for the right-back position, but both were recently injured or ill.
