Compare prices and services

In principle, the dating service “Tinder” can also be used without a paid subscription, but only to a limited extent. But which subscription offers what and which is the best choice? TECHBOOK presents the various Tinder subscription models.

For example, while Parship does not offer a free version, Tinder can also be used by those who do not want to spend any money on a subscription. As you can imagine, however, the options for contacting them without a paid subscription are significantly limited. If you want to increase your chances of a match and thus getting to know each other better, you should use one of the three paid offers. The subscriptions build on each other and are called Tinder Plus, Tinder Gold and Tinder Platin from bottom to top.

Entry-level subscription Tinder Plus

Compared to the free account, simply called Tinder, the user gets a significantly expanded range of functions with the Tinder Plus subscription. With the free version you can already view profiles, “match” them and contact these “matches” via chat or message (“Match.Chat.Meet”), but there are restrictions here. The number of likes that can be distributed is limited and the “Passport To Any Location” function is also missing. With a virtual change of location, this makes it possible to “look around” at the travel destination and make contacts a few days before you go on vacation, for example.

With Tinder Plus, on the other hand, these services are part of the package and the user is spared advertising. However, two other, earlier advantages over the free version have been lost for some time, at least for new subscribers. Free super likes or the free monthly boost – here your own profile gets increased visibility for a certain period of time – are no longer part of Tinder Plus.

Tinder Gold for more convenience

From Tinder Plus to Tinder Gold – that may be a relatively less profitable climb than Tinder to Tinder Plus. In fact, however, the Tinder Gold subscription has some additional options over the Tinder Plus functions that are already included, which definitely mean a gain in convenience.

In this way, the user can see which candidates have given them a like before they swipe. That would of course increase the potential chance of a date if you liked it. In addition, unlike Tinder Plus, all the top picks suggested daily by Tinder can be liked. The price also includes five super likes a week and a monthly free boost.

The premium subscription Tinder Platinum

Tinder Platinum is ‘state of the art’ when it comes to Tinders. In addition to the benefits of Tinder Gold, this subscription gives you the ability to add a message to every super like – before any match! According to Tinder, this should increase the match potential by 25 percent. The Priority Likes function can also be helpful. This ensures that your own profile is displayed preferentially for the liked or super-liked candidates. That means: If you imagine the likes that someone received as a stack of letters, for example, then thanks to the algorithm, Priority Likes ensures that the user’s “letter” is placed high up in this stack, so that the recipient can find out more about the interest is informed.

And last but not least, the Tinder Plus subscriber can also see which profiles they have liked in the past seven days. Ultimately, however, this feature is more interesting in terms of statistics than that it would bring the user any tangible benefits.

Costs at a glance

All three Tinder subscriptions, Tinder Plus, Tinder Gold and Tinder Platin, can be taken out for a term of one, six or twelve months. The longer you book the subscription, the lower the monthly fee will be in relation to it. You should also know that the prices mentioned are average prices. They can vary significantly depending on the subscriber’s age (“Under/Over 28”), gender or location.

Tinder Plus costs EUR 9.99 for one month, EUR 5.83 for six months and EUR 4.58 for twelve months. This applies to the “Under 28” category. Depending on the term, the prices for “Over 28” are up to 70 percent higher.

Tinder Gold starts at 14.99 euros per month, the half-year subscription costs 54.96 euros, the annual subscription 84.96 euros. Up to 86 percent more is charged for “over 28” (the subscription for one month, for example, then costs a whopping 27.49 euros).

Tinder Platin costs 8.96 euros for a 1-month subscription, 34.57 euros for a 6-month subscription and 53.77 euros for a 12-month subscription. The surcharge for “Over 28” is the steepest here: you pay 30.99 euros for one month, 129.96 euros for six and 174.96 for twelve months. That means a surcharge of up to 270 percent!

Conclusion

It immediately catches the eye that it would be better if you never turned 28 – at least not if you enjoy Tindering. In any case, the surcharges for everyone who has reached or exceeded the age of 28 are steep. The fact that the best way to get away with all Tinder subscription variants is the twelve-month subscription – nothing new in the jungle of subscription fees. The only question is whether you actually want to tinder for a year. Maybe it sparked before and maybe even permanently.

So the six-month subscription is probably the best choice. Whether you choose Plus, Gold or Platinum depends on how intensively you want to do Tindering. In any case, it is quite certain that the additional functions in the platinum version significantly increase the chances of matches. That you can also achieve success with a little less effort, but also. After all, success depends above all on the photo with which you present yourself. If that is meaningful enough, Tinder can already bring joy in the free version.
