Community service for antivaxers who assaulted GGD staff | 1Limburg

A 49-year-old woman from Heerlen is given 80 hours of community service for threatening and harassing GGD staff in Heerlen. A 48-year-old man from Hoensbroek gets 60 hours.

That happened last month, on February 9 and 10. First at a location in Heerlerheide, then in Heerlen.

Genocide
Images of the action in Heerlen caused a lot of outrage. The two accused the staff of genocide and the woman at one point hit an employee.

The Public Prosecution Service had demanded longer community service, 100 hours against the woman and 80 hours against the man. In addition, the Public Prosecution Service wanted a suspended prison sentence for the woman. And for both a location ban of six months.

No criminal record
But the judge kept it to community service. Another factor was that the woman did not yet have a criminal record. The man did, but that was an incident in the past.

The case has been dealt with via summary court, they appeared before the police judge on Wednesday. The verdict came on Thursday.
