Did Arsenal player Bukayo Saka make hands or not? Football fans are going crazy on social media about the possibly wrongly withheld penalty for Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final. This is what the rule book says.
The big discussion point of the match already took place in the eighteenth minute, when Bukayo Saka unfortunately seemed to get the ball against his hand. To the anger of Paris Saint-Germain, German referee Daniel Siebert and VAR waved away the moment.
Arsenal took the lead in the sixth minute through Kai Havertz. In the build-up to that goal, Leandro Trossard is said to have made hands. Did Arsenal get away with this?
The rule book prescribes that hands must be aware, or that the hand or arm must make the body unnaturally larger. At this moment neither seemed to be the case: the ball was shot straight to the body. The natural position of Saka’s arms, on the other hand, is debatable.
