This all happened in May 2022. Arsenal finished fifth last season with 69 points.
At the moment, the team is still at the top of the Premier League. It has collected 75 points, although there are still five league games left.
Arsenal have had an absolutely fantastic football season behind them. Nevertheless, this spring also ends in disaster.
Arsenal will not win the championship. It has now played four league matches without a win, and has only received three points from a possible 12.

The pace is simply not enough against Manchester City. Yesterday, Pep Guardiola’s team won their seventh consecutive victory in league games. It only needs two draws from its backlog to become number one in the Premier League – and to the championship.
Arsenal got tired. The exact same thing happened to it as last year, only now the stakes were much, much higher.
Newcastle dropped it in May 2022 from the Champions League places.
Kevin De Bruyne judged it to be second in the league on Wednesday.

That’s not enough either. Arsenal have overachieved all season. Silver feels like a loss, but at the same time it describes the league’s power relations well.
Manchester City simply have far better individuals.
